Is There Help Paying for My Insurance?
The short answer is that for most people who get Affordable Care Act (ACA) health-insurance plans, some form of financial assistance is available to help pay premiums, or reduce premium costs.
To be more specific:
-
- Nearly 9 in 10 North Carolinians get help paying for their insurance.
- The amount of financial help available to a person, or a family, works on a sliding scale based on the income of that person or family.
- Some people will qualify for free or low-cost health insurance through NC Medicaid or N.C. Health Choice for Children.
- There are many insurance plans and prices for you to compare side-by-side, so you can choose a plan that best fits your needs, and your budget.
